The outside of Ouran always looked the best when the grand towers and the old-esque buildings were complimented with the petals of cherry blossoms fluttering the air. As the belltower clanged, Tamaki Suou, the "King" of the Ouran Host Club stepped outside from the ledge indoors and rustled back his hair and smiled. The day was young and it was still beautiful. The sun shone gallantly from the fluffy-clouded sky. With his beautiful blonde hair and warm violet eyes, Tamaki smiled at the lovely weather. A few pink petals fluttered by softly.
Gracefully, he waltzed outside where many students walked the sidewalks. A few girls waved their hellos to Tamaki, whom responded elegantly with a smile and a bow back. Tamaki stepped back to look at one of the trees planted in the garden area. It's giant limbs branched out so gallantly. The tips had fresh bulbs of blooming cherry blossoms. The white intermixed with the pink and the tree was absolutely stunning. He did feel bad such a grand tree would be hiding out back in the small garden. Fountains of water complimented the final scenery of the landscape.
Tamaki fingered a loose flower from the tree and gently floated down onto his hand. Smiling, he sniffed the flower and it's petals fluttered gently in the warm breeze. Spotting an isolated girl walking by, Tamaki kindly handed the flower to her and smiled his prince-like smile. "For you, Princess." He said and bowed his head. Tamaki was about to walk off when....

Saaya was not in an overly pleasant mood at that time, although the day would like to argue with her and perhaps convert her over into sickly joy. While she wasn’t in a particularly nasty mood, either, she’d kept herself coasting throughout the day, rather tired due to the all-nighter she’d pulled studying. Not being the sort to have better things to do, she could often be seen passing her time in the library, rather it be done through reading for leisure or for schoolwork.
So she was irritated with the brightness of the day; it almost burned her eyes as she’d kept herself indoors all day, and now walking about was proving to be a bit more of an effort than she may have anticipated beforehand. She must have burnt more energy than she’d thought, but oh well, she’d have the opportunity to rest within a few hours. Just carry on through the day for a little while longer… although she wasn’t certain if she was really that tired, or if it was just that her day had been a little less perfect than she had originally planned.
Saaya kept her briefcase in front of her as she walked, holding it neatly with both hands, pleased that her long red hair was not getting in her way that day. It could pose a problem at times, and she didn’t want to have to stop to place it up in a ponytail if it became too bothersome. She briefly let out a sigh of exasperation, looking at the other students as they passed her. She wasn’t the social sort, so some of the large groups she saw made her skin crawl at the idea of being forced to communicate like that, but she pushed such thoughts away. It was unlike her to think like that.
Saaya lifted her gaze, spotting a blonde boy who appeared to be receiving many greetings from the other students… particularly the girls. She thought that perhaps she recognized him, though she doubted she’d be able to place a name with the face. He appeared to be in a delightful sort of mood, with the way he offered up his movements and replies to the passers-by… or at least, that was how she viewed him. She wasn’t going to bother to try and analyze him. Her brain seemed to be moving her along at auto-pilot, and she was therefore glad in an odd sort of way that nothing exciting had taken place.
Only now did Saaya look up and take in the great tree that she was making her way past, looking up only because she’d been wondering where the boy was looking when she noticed him redirect his gaze. What a strange boy… was all she could think as she shook her head. Saaya was hardly the sort to bother to appreciate such things as cherry blossoms; for while they were visually pleasing, she didn’t understand their use so from her such things received little reverence. She could enjoy them for short periods of time if she put in the effort to look at such things in a different light, but she greatly preferred the beauty of the written word. So when she was moving past the boy, she was very surprised when he handed her a flower, flashing her a smile.
So, if he understood her a little better, he’d have to excuse her rather harsh reply. “And just what am I expected to do with this?!” She asked, rather blankly. To anyone else, her reply may have seemed rather stupid, but to Saaya it was the act of handing her a flower that was stupid. Especially when she had very little ideas about who he could possibly be. In fact, the whole escapade was weird to her. Of what use were flowers?

At first, Tamaki didn't expect the girl to say anything back. He was used to handing these small trickets to girls and they would swoon and he'd walk off in the sunset. So he was a bit startled when the lady he handed the flower to snapped at him. Tamaki turned his head back to face her. At first glance, she was very pretty but looked awfully serious. Her long hair was beautiful and Tamaki could imagine the lady would be even prettier if she learned to see the beauty of a flower.
"Eh?" His first response went then he realized how rude that might've been and cracked a gentle smile again. It elluminated in the bright sunlight and he stepped back to walk towards the girl slowly. "Oh, I'm sorry!" Tamaki said. He put a finger to her face and smoothed away a bang of hair. "You were just so beautiful, I would've loved to see the beauty of the flower matched against your own." Tamaki thingyed his head and smiled. A few girls standing feet away swooned, obviously still jealous.

Saaya resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Was this guy always as eccentric as he was acting now? She had a feeling he was, and this almost made her grin, though she was, in truth, actually quite far from amused. More like disturbed. She could think of few words that fit this boy better than flamboyant… expressive, rather. And a little to into whatever act he thought he could pull over on her.
She might have slapped him… if she didn’t find such acts a tad too feminine, and not only that, but cliché. Rather, she would have just as much preferred that she be allowed to walk on… something she would do if she didn’t feel that that would be overly rude, and perhaps put on an obnoxious air that she had no desire to project. She was, figuratively speaking, really hitting herself on the head for having said anything to him. It was painful to her having to watch his little charade. But then, she had a sinking suspicion that someone like him would normally act in such a way.
Great…
But then when he touched her face and move aside a piece of her hair she was actually quite shocked. She was not the sort who liked to be touched, especially not by overly extravagant strangers. “Excuse me?” She balked, taking two short steps backward. She narrowed her eyes, not knowing what to do next, or what to make of the strange boy. She found herself confused as well, not understanding his mindset. Why approach a strange girl to give her a flower? And then, after she did not seem so pleased with that, feel that you could go ahead and touch her? Was he usually so dense? Would he not expect a retaliation of some sort? While she was not the type to do so in a physically violent manner, she felt her options were few.
At his next words, Saaya shook her head lightly, a smirk playing upon her face, then vanishing. “You spout off a pretty line.” She said, her words laden with sarcasm, making it quite evident that the girl was not impressed. She moved her head to the side slightly, looking at him curiously, only now noticing the other girls. Just from looking at the boy, she was sure he’d already noticed.
“Are you really serious?” She asked, in relation to the grand show she assumed he was putting on. And why her? Really… she jerked her head to the side now, gesturing towards some random girl, “Why not her? Go bother her.” She shook her head, almost cracking a smile, now finding the entire situation rather amusing, considering how random it had begun. She considered the boy for another moment or so, only now playing with the thought that perhaps he was genuinely good-natured, and he’d happened to shower his words of good esteem upon the wrong sort of person. Hmm… that was unfortunate for him.
At that thought, Saaya almost snapped her fingers. Ah… she’d heard about something called a host club around the school through the passing words of gossip she would gather walking through the halls. It wasn’t something she would engage in… in fact socialization in itself was almost an alien idea to her lately, but perhaps he was part of this host club. She now looked at him differently… okay, so maybe that was something he truly enjoyed doing, although Saaya couldn’t really see why. Quite honestly, she would prefer doing something with her time other than attending to this host club as a client. Well, that was obvious in itself considering her reaction to the boy. Perhaps she would recognize his name? Time to change tactics.
She shook her head good-humouredly now, offering up a false but very-real sounding laugh, and held out her hand. “I’m sorry,” she flashed him a smile, “I’m Saaya Ryuri.” She’d get the introduction over quickly, that was something she liked to do when meeting new people. And this way she could find out who he was, and perhaps move on to something more pleasant. She figured her earlier comments would merely have them dancing around in circles until one of them made a break for it. This way seemed better for the two of them.

Tamaki was never used to being prosecuted about his mannerisms. In fact, most girls here on campus basically knew what kind of person he way. A charming gentleman and a swooner, that's all. His face went blank as if surprised and he smiled as she introduced herself properly. "Ah I'm sorry. I didn't know!" Tamaki apologized. A new unique person. She almost seemed like Haruhi except a tad bit meaner. "Nice to meet you, hime-san." Tamaki bowed with a hand over his chest, very prince-like. "My name is Suou Tamaki, pleased to make your acquaintance." He introduced himself this time.
"I'm terribly sorry if I've offended you." Tamaki said, taking a more mature route to this situation. If it were a few months ago, he'd have thrown a fit by now, and then crouched into his depressed position. "But I don't kid when I tell ladies that they are beautiful. I hope you don't take it the wrong one." He ruffled his front bangs back. Indeed, Tamaki was admired throughout as a handsome and utterly charming student on campus. All the girls loved him and a few glared daggers at Saaya as they walked by and waved hellos to Tamaki who greeted them back.
"Ryuri-san, are you on your way to class?"
[Small talk. xD Dunno what else to say]
