Today was one of those really dreary days when there was no sun, yet no rain. It was really just limbo, the way it was. Few were outside and the sky lolled on with a gray and dreary exterior. In the midst of that, a car rolled into the street. It was a bright shiny black limo and it halted to a stop in front of the apartments. A butler opened the door and out stepped a blonde beauty. The young man-- Suou Tamaki as he was known at Ouran lowered his sunglasses (even with no sun outside) and looked up at the apartments. Today was a Saturday so he assumed Haruhi would be home. To his knowledge, commoners had no state dinners to attend to, no organizational conventions to go to and no foreign dignitries to greet. He nodded at his butler who got into the car and drove off.
Tamaki wore a plain white polo button up shirt and comfortable cargo shorts that went down to his knees. It was very casual wear, different from how the really fancy rich people dressed. He didn't want Haruhi to feel misplaced while Tamaki wore something out of a designer catalog to her home. In his hands was a plastic bag. And inside that plastic bag was some incense, a few sweets and a box of cake for Haruhi. He smiled and worked his way up the stairs.
He smoothed his hair out and knocked on the door of the Fujioka residence. When the door opened finally, after an eternity, Tamaki grinned brightly and held up the plastic bag to the head of a small brunnette girl. "Hello Haruhi! I hope I'm not intruding!" Tamaki called out to her and smiled with his usual adorable smile.
[OOC: I have an ingenius plot plan. Tamaki comes to visit today to pay respect to the shrine set up in Haruhi's house. Basically he does that to honor her mom, but to also honor his own since today is his mother's birthday. It's kinda a hidden secret until Haruhi realizes it. ^^ Likey?]

((OOC: Lol, yeah me likies!! Lol. Okay here we go…))
Haruhi, dressed in denim trousers that were cut off mid-calf and slip-flops looked a lot more girly in her feminine top. At school of course she had to wear the boy’s uniform or people would realise her true gender. At home her father tried to impress upon her the need for her to wear dresses all the time. With both sides of clothing pushed at her she had managed to come to a half and half composition with her attire. She wore trousers instead of a dress and refused to wear her hair in any kind of style different from how she wore it at school and yet still wore more feminine flowing tops or lighter colours. It made her look like a girl but still a little tom-boyish.
She had been preparing vegetables, chopping tomatoes and peppers and onions for dinner that night when there was a knock at the door. Rinsing her hands under a tap and wiping them on a towel she then wiped a little at her eyes which were slightly red and watery from the onion-chopping and swung the door open. And there stood Tamaki. Dressed in a rather subdued manner than normal– there wasn’t a fashion designer label in site– Tamaki looked just as handsome as he always did. It was obvious why so many girls designated him at the Host Club.
“Senpai!” She said in surprise, blinking in case what she saw was a hallucination brought on by the onions. “What are you doing here?” She stuck her head out of the door a little more and looked around. There was no-one else there– no-one else from the Host Club. Haruhi knew that Tamaki was naturally shy when it came to meeting people he found important in his life– like members of the Host Club. Last time the group had come to her house he’d called the others because he’d been too nervous to come by himself. It must have taken some courage to come on his own this time.
Unsure what to do Haruhi held open the door. “Um… come in. I was just preparing food for the evening meal. Father is out with his friends for the day, so I haven’t had a chance to go shopping. I’m afraid I can only offer you tea.” Taking the bag that he held under her nose dubiously, she opened it and looked inside. Spotting the cakes she said “Ah, you’ve prepared for that possibility I see.” Laughing, she let him into the house.
What was he doing here? Did he have something about the Host Club that he wanted to discuss? Suddenly Haruhi was struck by an awful thought. He wasn’t going to try and convince her to wear a girls costume for their next cosplay was he? That was always a strong possibility…

The sight of Haruhi in the clothing of a working housewife made Tamaki glow. He flushed a faint pink and put his hands on her shoulder. "Ha-Haruhi..." Tamaki said. "This housewife clothing..." He glimpsed at her. "It's adorable." Tamaki grinned foolishly, flashing her a thumbs up. When Haruhi said she was preparing the evening meal, Tamaki gloated inside. "Oh! So I get to taste Haruhi's cooking again! Yay!" He flashed another grin and a thumbs up. Indeed, last time he'd been really shy about coming to her house alone. Mostly, he dragged along Kyouya for moral support because of his frightening dream of Haruhi living in a shed. But now that he has actually seen her home, Tamaki was a lot more confident. "Of course! Tea is fine!" He added.
"Ojama shimas." Tamaki said and walked inside, bending his head ever-so-slightly since the roof was a little too short for him. He was still awkward about the dwellings of a commoner's home and therefore felt as though he was walking on eggshells here. He gently reached into the bag and took out the sweets in the plastic container and the box of incense. Smiling sweetly at Haruhi he chuckled slightly. "For Haruhi's mother." He offered.
The shrine was situated in the sitting room and he smiled, a bit of sadness fading in and out of his gentle violet eyes. But he grinned at Haruhi and kneeled down on the tatami mat set in front of her mother's little shrine. "I came to visit her today. I hope you don't mind." Tamaki said and continued to smile. He bowed his head down to the ground twice and sat politely looking at the beautiful picture of Haruhi's mom.
"She must've been just like you.." Tamaki said and grinned at Haruhi.

Haruhi, who had moved into the kitchen to make tea, came back with a mug for each of them, and set it out on a low table near the small shrine to her mother. Sitting down with her legs crossed under the table she listened to Tamaki, a little shocked that he had been thoughtful enough to come and see her mother.
"Of course it's alright. I'm sure mother will be pleased that you came to see her." She smiled kindly at him. "And father always said I was like her. I remember her quite well. She was wonderful. Hard-working, kind and thoughtful. When she died I found it quite hard, but now I've excepted the situation. As long as she's at peace and father's happy then I'm happy too." Her smiled widened and a light seemed to shine from within as a lock of hair fell over one eye. Reaching up she re-secured it with a clip.
"Why did you come all the way here to see my mother senpai? You didn't have to. It's very kind of you to do so but why today of all days? And you didn't bring the rest of the Host Club with you... I'm curious as to the reason why..."
Pushing the small mug across the table to him she picked up her own and slipped from the edge of the china. Her eyes strayed to the shrine of her mother and the picture that always sat amongst a few lillies and now the sweets Tamaki had added. It really was very thoughtful of him...

Tamaki smiled gently to himself as she told him of her mother. Yes... sounded exactly like Haruhi. She was the splitting image of her too. He turned around and sat politely at the table and smiled brightly at Haruhi. However, somehow he too was puzzled on why today made him feel so... empty and alone. But nonetheless, he said thanks for the tea and slowly sipped it.
"Why I came today? Well isn't it a father's duty to see his daughter is doing?" Was his immediate and foolish reply. He grinned and laughed gently. Taking out the sweets, he held them at Haruhi. "Ora! See?? You told me before that these would be a good offering for Haruhi's oga-san!" Tamaki said, his eyes brimming with twinkling stars and thinking of his ingenious plan. "So I thought since I wasn't busy today, I'd stop by!"
"NO! We need good quality, father-daughter time too!" Tamaki said dramatically and almost slammed his fist down onto the table. "That's why, Haruhi... we should go out today!" He said, no ill intentions in his thoughts. "You can pick the place! Anywhere!" Tamaki grinned. "If you don't pick somewhere, then I'll never tell you what today is...." His final words said.

((OOC: Okay I want to do a typical Haruhi response but it means a little gming if I want my post to be half-way decent in length. Just tell me if you don't like it and I'll change it- it's typical Tamaki anyway... Lol...))
Haruhi leant back as Tamaki leant forward, declaring that they needed father-daughter time. Then he threatened not to tell her what was special about today. She smiled slightly, stood up, picked up the mugs and said-
"Okay, don't tell me then." And went into the kitchen to put the mugs in the sink for washing up later. When she returned to the living room, Tamaki was crouched in his sad little corner, curled up in the foetal position. A dark cloud seemed to hang over his head.
Sighing, Haruhi put her hands on her hips and blew out a lock of hair that had fallen over her eye again. Well... He had been nice enough to bring sweets for her mother, and he'd taken time out of his busy schedule to see her. Despite the fact that he hadn't bothered to ring first or let her know that he was coming, it was still a nice thought.
"Well... Okay then. I have to pick the place right... Um..." Haruhi raised a finger to her chin to ponder what she should choose... "How about the fairground? Kaoru took me there once and that was good fun! How about the fairground senpai?"

(xD. Don't change it. It's fine. Haha)
Tamaki's sullen attitude brightened and he perked up immensely when Haruhi gave into his plea. He clapped his hands and laughed. "The fairgrounds! What a wonderous commoner's place! Don't worry Haruhi, because I'll pay for both of us!" Tamaki chirped and patted her on the shoulder. He then made way for the door. "Well then, let's go!" The King singsonged.
Moments later, the lights of the lovely fairgrounds shone. Although not bustling with people as it usually was, the turning of the ferris wheel, the squeals of laughter and the mixing aromas of food made Tamaki's eyes widen. He had no idea that such playgrounds had been built for adults! Not only that, but couples walked the boardwalks and some came sprinting around with big stuffed animals. Tamaki clenched his fist and had a triumph look on his face. He decided then he'll win something for Haruhi later.
The air was very warm and it was perfect weather to be wandering around in the small carnival. Tamaki was more like a little kid though as he jumped up and down and clapped, smelling and seeing all the glamours of a commoner's funplace. "H-Haruhi!! This place is incredible!" He cheered. Some walked by and wondered who this boy was. Some foreign kid or just a loser who had never been to a carnival? It must've looked embarassing.
Tamaki then spotted a merry-go-round. With all the plastic but pretty horses galloping in circles and the ornate decorations around the calypso, his face stretched into that of a 3 year old's. Grabbing Haruhi's hand and giddying with excitement, he said, "Haruhi, Haruhi!! I wanna ride that!! Can we ride that??" He chirped happily. More pedestrians staring...

Haruhi laughed and reached out to grab the sleeve of Tamaki's shirt to calm him down.
"Senpai you're attracting attention. And not in a good way." She added. "That right is for little kids, but you can ride it if you want."
They moved forward and the man operating the ride, removed the chain that crossed the entrance- there wasn't anyone in the que for this ride, to let them on. He gave them strange looks as they passed and Haruhi felt the back of her neck getting warmer. They must look really stupid. But at the same time she found that she didn't care very much.
Tamaki had once told her that he hadn't had many friends growing up due to his mother being ill in bed most of the time. This was obviously his first time to a fairground and his excitement was catching. Like the day they had all played "commoner" games. The other's had been so excited at the prospect of games she had played constantly as a child that she had found her enthusiasm for them renewed. This was the same.
Running up the few steps onto the merry-go-round, she found a horse she had always liked as a child. It had the name "Theodore" emblazed over it's hind quarters and was missing an ear. The wood had been snapped off. As a five year old girl she had always felt sorry for it, having only one ear- other children hadn't ridden it. It was a white horse, but the paint was a little chipped. Reaching up she grabbed hold of the bar above it and swung herself expertly into the saddle. The horse rocked a little and an omnious creaking could be heard but that always happened with older rides. Part of the fun was the danger that it might fall apart.
Looking back, she watched Tamaki as he chose his horse. There was a look of such rapped attention and excitement on his face she couldn't help smiling... Who'd've thought she'd be riding the merry-go-round again at her age...

Tamaki laughed as the chain let loose and he immediately broke free into a skip to find a horse. He'd seen these on TV. People get on and the machine apparently moves the calypso around and around. It was a senseless sport, but nonetheless, it appeared to be fun. As they both got on, Tamaki looked over to Haruhi's horse and he smiled. Not exactly knowing how to pick a proper ride, he decided then and there.... he'd get on the same horse with her. Walking over, He took the bar that they held onto and slung himself onto the same one that Haruhi was on, so they would ride together and he'd be in the back, protecting her.
He smiled at Haruhi. "Fathers and daughters always ride it together, right?? I've seen people do it before." Tamaki laughed, clutching onto the bar that was in front of Haruhi. A few people watching the ride blushed and murmered. So these two were on a date? What a cute couple even though they obviously looked mismatched. Before Haruhi could utter a word of complaint, the machine took off and they began to go round at a slow speed. Tamaki grinned widely and laughed. "AAH! This is great! Isn't it great, Haruhi??" He hollered so everyone could hear.
The machine twirled faster and faster and the fast-paced music caught on as well. He clutched for balance then jumped off the horse so he was standing on the stage where the horses still spun. He reached out for Haruhi to grab his hand so they could dance on this spinning calypso. "Come on Haruhi!" He laughed.

Haruhi almost hit her head on the pole as she was knocked forward a little as Tamaki jumped onto the horse behind her. Smiling ridiculously she said-
"Senpai what-" But then the ride started and there was nothing she could do except keep her head down a little and hope that there was no-one in the crowd who would recognise her in the company of someone who appeared to be a madman. He was that excited about a merry-go-round? Haruhi shook her head in bewilderment. At least every day with Tamaki was different. It was never boring that was for sure.
Then Tamaki jumped down from the horse and held out a hand to her, he wanted her to get off of the horse and dance with him on the calypso. Was he mad?! Everyone was going to see and it would be embarassing.
But since joining the Host Club Haruhi had definitely become less sensitive of being embarassed. Look at Tamaki- nothing embarassed him. Ever. He was alive and fun and did exactly what he wanted, when he wanted, how he wanted. Despite having a not so great start in life he had come out of it shining ready to try new things and not sparing two minutes for what other people thought of him. In Haruhi's opinion that was a wonderful way to live. Maybe it was that that prompted her to jump of her horse. A sharp pain hurt her upper-arm but it was slight and she didn't notice it ((OOC: will come back to that later Lol)) and joined Tamaki down onto the calypso, where she slipped into his embrace in a dancing position.
"You are so embarassing senpai..." She told him quietly, but she was still smiling...

Tamaki laughed as he took Haruhi's hand as they danced lively in the midst of the turning horses and the music. Some spectators laughed as others clapped along with the rythm. Tamaki smiled and spun Haruhi around. It was always fun dancing like so. He never had the time to be goofy outside of school, always busy with his father in business affairs now. So it was just great to let loose and cut back to have the well-deserved fun. The carasoul (sp?) spun a bit faster by the minute and suddenly as if the dizziness caught up to them, Tamaki stumbled backwards and landed on the floor, still on the merry-go-round with Haruhi ontop of him. (He was holding her hand dancing when he stumbled down, therefore dragging her down too).
He began laughing, his hair slightly messed up and with the two of them in an awkward stance. The watchers laughed too and shook their heads. What a strange couple these two were and walked off. Tamaki rubbed his head and laughed as he was still on the floor which was still spinning. "Haruhi, are you ok?" He asked, smiling. Then he sat up and carefully lifted himself and Haruhi both off the ground. "That was fun, neh??" He asked cheerfully. "Let's ride on the that next!" He said, pointing to a rollar coaster next to them which spun and tangled out of controll. "It looks daring! And fun, right??" He jumped up and down, his energy returning.

Haruhi was laughing, as they both fell down and ended up on the floor of the carosel(sp?). Getting up as the structure slowed to a stop, Tamaki was already off like a shot, ready to go on one of the largest rollar coasters. Haruhi smiled. Where did he get so much energy?
Again she wondered why Tamaki hadn't brought along the rest of the group. He'd said that they should have some "father-daughter" time. But that wasn't real- the whole family thing was just a joke- so what was the real reason behind his feelings of having the day and her to himself?
Jumping down off of the carousel, she and Tamaki ran for the roller coaster. There was a bit of a line but the carriages on the snake-like train that went around the course, held so many people that they were all allowed onto the next round. Haruhi immeadiately ran to the back of the snake.
"Tamaki-senpai!" She called. "The back is faster!" This was true. With her scholar mind Haruhi had determined that as the back was pulled down the ramp by the rest of the carts in front it must go faster. It was either the very back or the very front, and as those seats were already taken, Haruhi had run to the back to snatch the back seats.
Sliding into one of the two seats, she carefully took out her hair slips and put them into her bag, she then tied her small bag to the laces of her trainers- the trainers she had swapped for her flip flops before they left. This was so that she didn't loose it or have it fall out when they went round fast corners. Had the ride been going upside down she would have left the bag behind.
Without the clips in her hair the locks at the side of Haruhi's face kept falling softly into her eyes as it did at school. Reaching up, she pulled the overhead bar down over their laps. It was just a simple bar that went across their knees- as it wasn't going upside down, the other-head harness wasn't necessary.
Haruhi was smiling and finding that she was quite enjoying herself. She didn't often let loose and have fun, but a fairground was just one of those places where you just had to smile and have fun.
"After this, my tummy's going to need a rest." Haruhi said, as a man was moving along the carts, checking that the bars were held fast in place. "So we should go look at the stalls right senpai?"
